Core statutory documents

Signed Form PPR-1. Party constitution or memorandum containing the Section 29A(5) allegiance declaration. Minutes of the founding meeting adopting the constitution and electing office bearers.

Membership documents

Office, bank and tax documents

Head office address proof, party PAN, bank account details, and the latest income tax return or a nil-return declaration.

How to prepare the political party registration document pack: step by step

How to assemble every document the Election Commission requires for political party registration under Section 29A.

  1. Step 1. Draft and adopt the party constitution

    Draft the constitution with the Section 29A(5) allegiance clause and have it adopted and signed at the founding meeting.

  2. Step 2. Record the founders' resolution

    Record the resolution adopting the name, constitution and office bearers, signed by the founding members.

  3. Step 3. Collect 100 member affidavits

    Obtain notarised affidavits from at least 100 members who are registered electors, each confirming they are not members of another registered party.

  4. Step 4. Gather party identity and address proofs

    Collect the party office address proof, PAN, bank account details, and photographs and identity proofs of office bearers.

  5. Step 5. Verify consistency across the pack

    Cross-check names, spellings, addresses and dates across every document so the pack matches Form PPR-1 exactly.
